Bangladesh mutiny: West Bengal under red alert

CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya held an emergency meeting with state chief secretary and home secretary after the outbreak of mutiny in Bangladesh. BSF sounded a red alert along the 2,216-km international border between West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Heavy gun-battle among Bangla Rifles troops

Heavy gun-batttle broke out among Bangladesh Rifles troops. Atleast one person has been killed and a few injured. BDR has an estimated strength of 67,000 men and is headed by a director general drawn from the Bangladesh Army.

Mutiny rocks Bangladesh, BDR soldiers revolt

The mutiny by BDR men triggered several gun battles in the capital city leading to a number of casualties. Several officers have also been killed at BDR headquarters located in Dhaka's Pilkhana area..
