India defeats Pakistan 3-2 in Hockey; a bronze won in snooker at the Asian Games 2010

ANOTHER VICTORY adds up to the Indian kitty. India defeated Pakistan 3-2 in a group B men's hockey match at the Asian Games. It’s the third consecutive win for India versus Pakistan in recent times.

Earlier, Pakistan lost 1-4 to India in the World Cup in March and 7-4 more recently in the Commonwealth Games. This consecutive win makes it a hatrick.

In today’s match Sandeep Singh converted two penalty corners for India, while Dharamvir Singh slotted one. For Pakistan, Rehan Butt and Shakeel Abbasi scored the goals. India led 2-1 at half-time.
Elsewhere, India won silver in the men's golf team event. South Korea won the gold by a massive margin.

In other events Sania won the quarterfinal of the women's singles against Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand and moved to the semi-finals.

In men’s tennis, India's Somdev Devvarman and Karan Rastogi entered the men's singles quarterfinal earlier today.
Also, Aditya Mehta secured a surprise bronze after losing to Chun Marco Fu Ka of Hong Kong 1-4 in the semifinals of the men's snooker singles competition today.

Earlier in the event, gold winner Pankaj Advani was knocked by Junhui Ding of China in the men's snooker pre-quarterfinals while compatriot Aditya Mehta reached the last eight stage winning and bringing a bronze back home.
