After Roddick exit last day against Lu of Taiwan, Willams failed to gain momentum against 22 year old Pironkova who is lowest ranked player in the remaining.

Venus realistically said after the match, “I just didn't get enough balls in today. I let it spiral and didn't get any balls in. I had a lot of opportunities, a lot of short balls and I seemed to hit each one out. ”

Earlier in Australian Open 2006 Pironkova beat Venus Williams in the first round but few gave her a chance of replicating the feat on the grass of Wimbledon.

Happy Pironkova, said, “Honestly, I think no one expected me to play semifinal in Wimbledon and to beat Venus Williams like that. Coming here I really just wanted to play a good game, to maybe win one or two rounds.”

She added, “I still cannot believe that I reached the semifinals. This is truly like a dream to me.”

Pironkova will face Zvonareva, who rallied for her first win over Clijsters in six meetings.

Wimbledon 2010: Serena williams Vs Maria Sharapova at 13:00 pm, Centre court

TODAYS'S MATCH match is going to very exciting , two legendry players will fight against one another. Serena williams vs Maria Sharapova in the Centre court at 13:00 pm in the Grand Slam Wimbledon 2010.

Sharapova and Williams will face off for the first time at Wimbledon since the Russian scored a shock victory over Serena in the 2004 final here. Then just a 17-year-old with little experience at the highest level, Sharapova created one of the biggest shocks in Wimbledon history by ending Serena's two-year run as women's champion with a stunning 6-1, 6-4 win.Maria Sharapova has warned Serena Williams that she is relishing the chance to end her old rival's reign as Wimbledon champion.Sharapova is finally approaching something like her best form again and she can't wait to tackle top seed Serena in the fourth round on Monday."I absolutely love it. She's the defending champion, she's great on this surface and she's won numerous grand slams,I love going on the court and playing someone that's obviously the favorite to win the match ,says Sharapova.

Although Sharapova has been in better form of late, she is well aware that Serena has been in an even more dominant mood - dropping just 10 games in her first three matches here. The 23-year-old also knows that Serena, who has taken the first set of each of her matches here by a resounding 6-0, holds a 5-2 career edge in their head to head meetings..

Like Sharapova, Serena doesn't believe the 2004 final will have much bearing on this meeting, although she is keen to forget all about that encounter."I just remember I was really nervous,I think I put too much pressure on myself. It didn't work out. That was that and that is past," Serena added.

Australia vs. Serbia World Cup 2010, team standing, schedule, live update

102297132_display_image AUSTRALIA IS ready for clash with Serbia on Day 13 of World Cup 2010 at Mbomela Stadium in Nelspruit. They have to play the game of their life if they are to book their place in the knock-out stages.

The only possibility of their next round hope is either Group topper Ghana beat Germany or Germany beat Ghana by a huge margin of at least five goals. So the chances are very slick. Compared to Australia, Serbia is in better position to move to knock–out stage. After defeating Germany in previous match they are confident enough to take on Australia. Win over Aussie will give them safe passage to next level.

Well there is a hope for Australian statistically, Serbia do not possess a good record against non-European sides at the World Cup, losing all three of those fixtures and shipping 10 goals in the process. Australia boss Pim Verbeek also faces selection issues as suspended duo Harry Kewell and Craig Moore miss the Socceroos' final group game.

Serbian team is facing Yellow card problems as there main strikers are under the threat. Moore, Australia's no-nonsense centre-back, will be missed in the Socceroos' defense as he incurred a one-game suspension for picking up his second yellow card. Serbian coach Nemanja Vidic is confident after win against Germany, “We can be confident, we must do the right things against Australia. They didn’t play great in the first game like us. Anything can happen in one game, we need to be focused. ”

Now Germany will try its best to move to the next round by beating the Ghana team in Group D clash at Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg.

Inconsistent German performance is big worry for its fans, after defeating Australia in opening match and 1-0 lose to Serbia shattered their motivational advantage. Joachim Low’s squad will try its best to prove its mettle by beating Ghana and move to next level.

Draw will not help the team as they will have to wait for Serbia vs. Australia result, in which Serbia have to win. The Group D is still wide open as all the team can qualify fro the knock out round, Ghana with four points is at the top.
Whole African continent will rally for Ghana as they are the last hope for the continent.

After suspension of Miroslav Klose for the game it would be challenge for manager Low must decide who will start up front. Cacau could play as a lone striker with Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller in attacking midfield.

The return of Captain John Mensah in central defense and Isaac Vorsah from injury will definitely boost Ghana’s hope. Coach Rajevac may opt to alter his system and help lone striker Asamoah Gyan by using a second striker or putting Sulley Muntari in midfield.

England vs. Slovenia FIFA 2010, 1-0, Team standing, timing, live update

defoe_132998f DAY 13 of the FAFA World Cup is day of ‘Do or Die’ for England team at Nelson Mandela Stadium of Port Elizabeth. The start looks good with 21st minute goal by Dafoe. Latest score is England 1-0 Slovenia. Their opponent for the mega event today is Slovenia, who outperformed England in recent past of their respective matches against Algeria and USA. But if we go by strengths England team is definitely more lethal, but they have to how lethal they are today.

Fabio Capello's men have to beat Slovenia in Port Elizabeth to be certain of qualifying for the last 16 in a tournament. They have to look beyond face-saving draws as they have shown against opening 1-1 draw against the USA and against Algeria. Slovenia will go into the game ruing their missed opportunity of taking two wins out of two, having gone 2-0 up against the US before half-time only to see their lead pegged back by Michael Bradley's equalizer eight minutes before time.

After Rio Ferdinand and Ledley King injuries Matthew Upson will start in defense, while Slovenians are waiting on the fitness of center-back Marko Suler. It would be interesting to watch Frank Lampard vs. Robert Koren clash. The more radical solution is to play Wayne Rooney in the role he performs for Manchester United as a lone striker, with Steven Gerrard behind. Slovenia tend to employ a straightforward 4-4-2 formation and can be expected to defend in two fairly rigid banks of four.

England Coach Fabio Capello is quite optimistic about the potential of the team, “After this game we have no more chances. We have to win. The results have not been good, but I haven't seen the right spirit on the pitch for 90 minutes, only for five or six minutes. I hope in the next game the spirit I saw in qualification will return.” On the othet hand Slovenian coach Matjaz Kek is self composed man, “Any national teams knows it is an honour to play England and it’s no different for us. After all, football was invented there. It’s a great stage to present and promote our beautiful country. ”

In all possibility Slovenia will opt for rather defensive 4-4-2 line up with S Handanovic; Brecko, Suler, Cesar, Jokic, Kirm, Koren, Radosavljevic, Birsa; Ljubijankic, Novakovic Substitutes: J Handanovic, Seliga, Dzinic, Ilic, Filekovic, Mavric, Pecnik, Krhin, Komac, Stevanovic, , Matavz, Dedic.

FIFA World Cup 2010 latest Team Rankings,FIFA Rankings

Hopes, are as usual high on Brazil, Portugal, Germany and Argentina who have showcased some terrific performance on the field. The counter attacks and calculated maneuvers have resulted in some spectacular rankings.

1.) ARGENTINA
What possibly could go wrong when you have the God of football, Lionel Messi attacking the opponents? Argentina kept their cool from the very beginning and crushed South Korea 4-1 with Gonzalo Higuain scoring a fantastic hatrick. Argentina is looking to be strong contender for the title.
2.) GERMANY
Germany calls for danger and cautiousness whenever they step down on the field. Their efficiency will be put to test against Serbia if all the players step down on the field. One team that will be praying for their group win is England who would want to avoid every possible face off on the field.
3.) BRAZIL
Brazil is still considered as the best team with supporters across the globe rooting for them. There attack and defence will navigate them through almost all teams without even having to drop a single point. Playing with the same level of passion Brazil has got the capability to turn the match any day they want to.

4.) NETHERLANDS
Netherlands' performance against the Danes was pretty impressive with the Danes being dominated in every nook and corner of the field. Their attacks were well planned and Wesley Sneijder was way far too impressive on the field as he is off the field.
5.)  IVORY COAST
Ivory Coast seemed quite soulless when they teamed against Portugal without Didier Drogba. Quite unfortunate for them for having to face champions like Brazil and Portugal. Looks like 2010 will not be the year where they will leave a mark for themselves. Nevertheless, all the best!!

It is going to be a match of tension, claimed the Serbian coach Radomir Antic as his team is going to meet one of the hot favourites of the World Cup, whereas German coach Joachim Loew is confident enough to bag his team's next victory today.
