At least 15 people killed in Lanka suicide attack

This attack appears to be the latest retaliatory strike by the Tigers. On Sunday, the government of Sri Lanka said its plan to defeat the LTTE had entered its "final phase" that would end the 26-year civil war which had claimed more than 70,000 lives.

31 LTTE rebels were killed as Sri Lankan forces seized a boat manufacturing unit and a ‘highly fortified’ camp of the guerillas in Maruthampuvel area of the northern region according to Sri Lankan army.
