BMW launches new 5 Series sedan 520d

THE GERMAN car maker BMW, famous for producing luxury car, has launched new BMW 5 Series sedan, BMW 520d for its Indian customers. The BMW 520d is placed as an entry level sedan in BMW's best selling 5 Series models with a price tag of 36.9 Lakhs ex-showroom in Delhi.

The new BMW 520d, powered by a 1995 cc 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, comes with a top speed of 225 kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 8.1 seconds, will deliver an economy of 18.4 km per litre as tested by the Automotive Research Association of India.

BMW India Chief, Dr Andreas Schaaf, launched the car on December 8 and said, "The new BMW 5 Series sedan, since its launch in April 2010, has successfully emerged as a leader in the luxury sedan segment in India. The new BMW 520d sets a new benchmark for four cylinder diesel sedans by combining outstanding performance with incomparable fuel efficiency."

The five-seater 520d sedan BMW 520d some of the features including 255/55 R 17 tyres, single Mp3 CD audio player, USB port and Bluetooth interface, etc.

The luxury 5 Series sedan, BMW 520d will be available in 10 colours including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Havanna, Milano Beige, Space Grey, Titanium Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect, will be assembled as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) in BMW's Chennai plant.
