Google unveils Samsung Nexus S smartphone

GOOGLE UNVEILED its latest smartphone, Samsung Nexus S, with the Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system on Monday. Gingerbread is the latest Android version. The phone will support both 2G and 3G network. The Nexus S will come to the store in the U.S. via Best Buy on December 16.

Nexus S features almost the same as the Samsung's Galaxy S. The 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen returns, embedded within a curved glass and protected with anti-fingerprint coating. it features include 5 MP, 2560 x 1920 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, 16GB storage, 512 MB RAM, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Standard battery, Li-Ion 1500 mAh.

The Nexus S is equipped with 1GHz Hummingbird processor, HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP. Dimensions of the phone is 123.9 x 63 x 10.9 mm and weight is 129 g. Nexus S has other features including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration. The Nexus S support for near-field communications (NFC), built-in voice-over-IP calling, better power management.

This phone also has Social networking integration, Digital compass, MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 player, image and video editor, document editor such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF. The Nexus S will be available only in black colour.
