MS Dhoni got insured for Rs. 34 cr for IPL 2011

Indian Premier League is starting today and action will continue till May 28. Ten teams would contest for the IPL 2011 and there will be total of 74 matches. First time IPL league will feature 10 teams with the inclusion of Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
For that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian skipper also Chennai Super Kings caption insured by the Oriental Insurance Company, and  has provided highest ever personal accident cover of Rs. 34 crore.

This cover includes travel risk, medical emergencies and loss of baggage. For IPL 3, he was given an insurance cover of  10 crore Rs. Whereas winner of the IPL 2009, Deccan Chargers  have been provided overall cover of about Rs. 98 crore.
Oriental Insurance Company has also provided insurance cover to five other IPL teams -- Chennai Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.Oriental Insurance also provided an insurance cover of more than Rs. 1,000 crore to the Board of Control for Cricket in India
The Twenty 20 cricketing extravaganza gets underway today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai where Chennai Super Kings takes on Kolkata Knight Riders.
