IN WHAT is a do or die situation for Bangladesh, in its last group league match against South Africa at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, the South African captain Graeme Smith won the toss and decided to bat first.
Today, if Bangladesh manages to win against South Africa, they will reserve a berth for themselves in the quarter finals of the ICC Cricket World cup 2011, otherwise they will be out of the tournament.
However, West Indies also has the same number of points as Bangladesh, but their net run rate is better than that of the Bangladeshi team.
South African captain Graeme Smith has made three changes in the playing XI from the last match against Ireland. He has rested fast bowler Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel and brought back leg spinner Imran Tahir.
Wayne Parnell and Lonwabo Tsotsobe would be making their World Cup debuts in this match. South African leading run getter in the ICC Cricket World cup 2011, AB de Villiers, will also not play the match.
For this must-win match, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has made one change in the playing XI that won against Netherlands by six wickets on March 14.
He chose off-spinner Naeem Islam in place of left-arm spinner Suhrawadi Shuvo.
