Railway Budget 2011-12 - Jharkhand Mukti Morcha demands New trains from Railway Minister

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has threatened to launch an agitation if their demands related to introduction of new trains alongside increasing frequencies and extension of few trains and other passenger amenities are not entertained in the Railway Budget 2011-12.

With railway minister Mamata Banerjee is set to announce the rail budget on 25th February, Bokaro residents have started raising their voice for the fulfilment of their demands.Bokaro is the highest revenue-earning station of Adra railway division, which is also hometown of JMM chief Shibu Soren.

Railway budget announced last year had shattered the hopes of residents as most of their demands were not heared. The JMM workers do want the same to be repeated this year too. And have started raising their voice by holding dharnas and demonstrations. Apart from the JMM, the Bokaro Chamber of Commerce and Industries and other local bodies are also demanding the same.

Residents have raised demand for new or extension of trains for Karnataka and Maharastra in Railway Budget 2011 as many youths of the town are studying there. They also want a train for Ahmedabad.
