Preview: India vs South Africa ICC Cricket World Cup match 2011

IN ONE of the most anticipated matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 this Saturday, two strong contenders India and South Africa will play each other at Vidarbha Cricket Association's Jamtha Stadium in Orange city, Nagpur.

The Indian team has already secured its berth in the quarterfinals of the tenth edition of the Cricket World Cup.
In the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2011, MS Dhoni and his brigade has won three matches against minnows of the group 'B' viz. Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands.

They won by 87 runs against Bangladesh and by five wickets each against Ireland and Netherlands. In the big match against England, the Indian team had to settle with a tie despite scoring a massive 338 runs.
The Graeme Smith-led South African team has played three matches so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. In their opening match they beat West Indies by seven wickets and in the next match against Netherlands, the Proteas won by a huge margin of 231 runs.

But in the third match, the South African batting collapsed against England and they lost by six runs in a low-scoring match.
South African batsman AB de Villiers and Indian dashing opener Virender Sehwag are among the top five run getters in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

AB de Villiers, who scored 266 runs with an average of 119 runs, is in the third place, whereas Virender Sehwag is in fifth position. He scored 254 runs with an average of 105. During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Sachin Tendulkar became the first cricketer to surpass 2000 runs in World Cups matches.
Nagpur's Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium is a paradise for batsmen. In the last three occasions, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Netherlands have scored more then 290 runs on this wicket.
The India vs South Africa group 'B' match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be telecast live on Star Sports and Star Cricket from 2:30 PM IST.
